After releasing three albums in six months and spending the summer on a tour bus you’d think Robyn would be ready for a break, but this fearless force just isn’t ready to slow down.

She’s unapologetic in her approach to music or her love of the pop genre, and with more control over what she’s creating than ever before, she couldn’t be happier.

So what better way to catch up with Robyn than while immersed in what she loves to do best: tour.

The songstress stopped by Montreal while on her summer circuit and we had a chance to sit down with her a few hours before the show to talk inspiration, why she loves playing live and about starting her own record label.

Robyn spent the summer on tour with Kelis, breaking off now and again to do a few solo shows. Her summer travels actually wound down just a few days ago with her last show in her native Stockholm, Sweden.

Opening Ceremony has put together these pieces as part of the FNO initiative.  “Everywhere you look, it’s clear that the countdown to Fashion’s Night Out has begun.  Designed exclusively for FNO, Opening Ceremony will debut a duo of sporty sweaters – a navy “France” and a red “America” – as well as a trio of backwards inside-out city tees for New York, Los Angeles, and, bien sûr, Paris.”

Breakbot always recently shot a video for D.U.M. for Diesel: U: Music France for his banger titled ‘Penelope Pitstop’.  The video (directed by Sophie Levy and produced by SOFILMS) is titled  “unofficial and uncensored”  and is kinda gross and weird but we still think this song is pretty tasty.

The latest prototype of the brand new Lexus CT 200h was showcased in the Distillery District Toronto on the last weekend in August 2010.

The weekend long event featured 4 prominent Canadian bands, VIP cocktail receptions and hands on interactive kiosks and displays.

The Music Lineup included:

Friday August 27 – The Stills
Fervent indie rock from Montreal Quebec and signed to Arts & Crafts. They have released 3 albums since their formation in 2000 and have been awarded 2 Juno awards for their 2008 album “Oceans Will Rise”.

Saturday August 28 – Lilly Frost
The BC born independent singer-songwriter has released 7 albums since 1996 and has had multiple features in popular televisions shows.

Saturday August 28 – The Midway State
The four piece  Toronto rock band released their first album “Holes” in 2008 and have already opened for bands such as Death Cab for Cutie, K-OS, and Jimmy Eat World.

Sunday August 29 – Paper Lions
Formerly named “Chucky Danger Band” (as of Febuary 1 2008) this P.E.I native indie rock band has 2 full-length album releases and multiple East Cost Music Award Nominations.

Cocktail Reception was held in the lavish Boiler House with passed hors d’oeuvre wine, beer and mixed drinks.

The CT 200h is a 1.8 liter front-wheel drive hatchback designed for drivers seeking luxury and practicality. The preview event displayed multiple vehicles in the cobblestone laneways of 55 Mill street. Guests were invited to sit in and feel out the new spacious interiors. Interactive kiosks set up around the outdoor venue allowed guests to voice their opinions while learning about the features highlights.

A main focus is the cars spacious interior and accessible hatchback. The cabin is said to be “driver-inspired” where all key functions are strategically placed for the drivers ease of use. The Remote Touch is a built in feature that simulates using a computer mouse so that Bluetooth, navigation and interior controls are right at hand.

What is being described as the “sporty, versatile, and highly efficient” member to the Lexus family will be available in 2011.

So while I’m waiting on that dream, a friend was nice enough to share this video with me and now I’m just itching to get back in the water.

On a slightly sad note, the gorgeous beach I spent most of time at while I was there, Playa Grande, became the resting place for a giant beached whale recently… Beautiful example of a community coming together.

I also highly recommend the area for anyone with a hankering for a generally tourist-free Costa Rican vaca.. Just go to Tamarindo and hop over an estuary a few minutes walk away.
